New York Mets owner Fred Wilpon, as profiled this week in Sports Illustrated, provided a blunt picture of the team's finances: The team is "bleeding cash" at the rate of a possible $70 million loss this year and his ownership of the team could be jeopardized by the $1 billion lawsuit against him and his Sterling Equities partners.
