TCU football coach Gary Patterson berated team physician Dr. Sam Haraldson on the sideline during the Horned Frogs' Sept. 24 game at SMU for concluding that running back Ed Wesley had a concussion and could not return to the game, a story in the American Medical News online reported Monday.
Dr. Haraldson told amednews.com that he "was verbally accosted by the coach, screaming at me insanely at the top of his lungs that he doesn't think [Wesley] has a concussion and what right do I have to hold him out."
Haraldson issued this statement Wednesday night: "TCU takes tremendous pride in the care it provides its student-athletes. Coach Patterson wasn't aware of the full details of the incident, and I take responsibility for that. We sat down and talked it over, and it's all been worked out. I apologized to Coach Patterson, and he apologized to me." Report: TCU'S Patterson berated doctor over injured player | Texas Christian University | Spo...
