I can't believe anyone thinks that a 1000 page health reform bill is what we need. I would love to hear anybody illustrate what they think is so great about this bill and why it would be good for our country. Hillary wouldn't have done any better, because even democrats know that the majority of people don't want it and that we don't have the money to fund it.

Letting insurance companies compete across state lines and cracking down on malpractice lawsuits would be simple to try and take very little resources to impliment. Why is this not being considered by Obama?

Health care cost money, because physicians usually spend a decade of their life getting educated and technology has a cost. If anyone thinks that a public option will not eventually phase out private health care, you are wrong. Clinton is right in one year it might seem great, but give it time. Young college students are not going to decide to spend another 4-8 years going to school just to work for the government. Companies are not going to invest money into research and advanced technology if the government is their only customer. The quality of health care will steadily decline. The better minds of our country will not choose health care as a profession. This WILL decrease the health care resources. If you combine that with the aging baby boomers, rationing is very likely. It is hard for most that are south of 35 or 40 to understand what all this means, but one day you will be there and you will kick yourself. Most don't realize that IF this does happen and all the conservative predictions are correct, is that even if you are financially strong enough to pay for your own health care, you won't be able to. Private pay will be the last privelage to fall, but when it does, that is when it will all become very clear. Do you know what that means? It means if you need a valve replacement at age 75, you may not get it even if you can pay for it out of your own pocket. That is a reality, because it happens now in countries with socialized medicine and those people come to this country to get it done. What a great country we have, right?

The more this country allows for goverment take over, the more the people depend on it to provide for them. It is foolish to think that the government will take better care of you than you can, but then again this government is breading parasites and is being successfull. I guess more and more people are becoming complacent with mediocrity.

One simple solution for most of the 15% of Americans without health insurance:

-Make it a priority over a cell phone, new car, etc.

Most of the uninsured are illegals or people that don't want it or don't think they need it. And you know what? They get treated anyway in the ER.
So why are we ready to sacrifice a system so that these people can have insurance? It makes no sense. The people in this country that do pay for health insurance would certainly benefit from copetition across state lines and tort reform.
Is our defense that good? I think so. And the scary part is that the whole team seems to take a sadistic pride in shutting people down. What is Pop feeding them? They looked brainwashed out there, a single minded machine that just eats up their opponents. -----pjrfan
