The UFC could host an event in San Antonio, Texas, later this year, according to a recent report from the San Antonio Express-News.

According to the report, UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner has been in contact with the AT&T Center, which is home to the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, though scheduling conflicts could require the UFC to use the Freeman Coliseum instead.

The UFC hasn't ventured to Texas since UFC 69 in April 2007.

That event, which took place at the Toyota Center in Houston, featured Matt Serra's stunning upset for Georges St. Pierre for the UFC welterweight title in the night's main event. The show drew 15,269 fans (12,516 paid) for a live gate of $2,817,200 and was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

According to the report, the San Antonio event would likely take place sometime between September and December of this year.

Depending on seating configurations, the AT&T Center could accommodate up to approximately 20,000 fans. The Freeman Coliseum tops out at about 12,000.

With approximately 1.3 million residents, San Antonio is the seventh-largest city in the U.S.
