Local baseball fans get new cable channel

Time Warner Cable San Antonio has added the Major League Baseball Network to its digital basic tier.
Basic cable subscribers with a digital set top box can find the new 24-hour sports network on Channel 255.
The MLB Network will provide live coverage of 26 scheduled baseball games held on Thursday and Saturday nights. It will also provide coverage of spring training, show highlights and air rebroadcasts of classic games such as the 1956 World Series. Some of the original programming on the channel includes “Hot Stove,” a live nightly show providing analysis of off-season trades, free agent signings and player movement rumors, and “Baseball Seasons,” which looks at some of baseball’s most compelling seasons.
“In our effort to continuously diversify our lineup of programming, we are thrilled to add this new sports channel with all its original programming to our customers,” says Gavino Ramos, vice president of communications for Time Warner Cable San Antonio. “Channels such as the MLB Network allows us to continue to provide a high level of entertainment to all our consumers.”
